Arsenal and Chelsea eye full-back Kaan Kurt, 18… who plays for Borussia Monchengladbach II in Germany’s FOURTH tier

ARSENAL and Chelsea are both tracking German teenager Kaan Kurt.

The full-back has played this season for Borussia Monchengladbach II in the country’s fourth tier but has yet to appear for the club’s first team.

Arsenal and Chelsea will battle it out for highly rated Kurt

Kurt, 18, who has played at German international youth level right through until the under-19s, mostly plays as an attacking right-back but can also operate on the left.

He is contracted with Gladbach until 2022 and would cost about £4million.

Kurt also played three times for Turkey’s under-17s and has attracted interest from Fenerbahce.

Arsenal do not have major money to spend this summer but they will still look to sign some talented stars for the future.

One of those is another Monchengladbach star – but this time for the senior side.

Centre-back Nico Elvedi could be a new arrival at the Emirates.

The 23-year-old Swiss international – who impressed in the 3-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday – looks set to leave the German club in the summer after a fantastic campaign.

According to French news outlet Le10Sport, the Gunners are keen on landing Elvedi – who could form part of a young, fresh and exciting Arsenal XI.

And another superstar-in-making who could fit into that side is 19-year-old Feyenoord star Orkun Kokcu.

The Dutch-born attacking midfielder is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil.

Frank Lampard’s Blues had been linked with the No10, along with Spanish sides Sevilla and Real Betis – with Serie A giants Roma and Atalanta also keen.

Feyenoord don’t want to sell Kokcu and, earlier this season, were determined to stave off the advances of Europe’s biggest and richest clubs.

But the impact of coronavirus may have forced their hand, with £20m seemingly enough to secure the attacking midfielder.
