Arsenal and Liverpool ready to offer Marco Asensio ‘50% more than Real Madrid to bring star to Prem on free transfer’

ARSENAL and Liverpool are battling to sign Real Madrid star Marco Asensio on a free transfer.

The Spaniard, 26, has just over a year remaining on his current contract.

Marco Asensio could be available on a free transfer in 2023

Real have offered him a new deal on his existing terms, believed to be £3.7million a year, according to Spanish outlet Super Deporte.

The deal would include an additional £1.2m in bonuses and would extend Asensio’s stay at the Bernabeu for another four years.

But the winger could quit Los Blancos amid Premier League interest.

Liverpool and Arsenal would offer him £5.8m per annum – 50% more than what Real are prepared to pay.

Both teams have held a long-term interest in Asensio who has scored seven goals in 20 La Liga games this season.

They could reportedly face competition for his signature from AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

But Liverpool could be frontrunners for Asensio‘s signature having ‘tempted’ the player before.

The Gunners reportedly saw a £34million bid rejected in the summer with Carlo Ancelotti persuading him to stay.

The Reds signed Luis Diaz in January, fighting off West Ham in the process, so signing Asensio may now be less of a priority.
