Arsenal ‘contact Asensio’s agents’ to find out wage demands as they join Spurs in transfer hunt for Real Madrid ace

Arsenal have joined the chase for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio

Asensio only has 12 months remaining on his deal.

The 26-year-old has been offered an extension by Madrid – and he has been given a deadline of June 20 to sign it.

However, the Spanish international’s demands have not been fully met and there is a belief that he will snub it.

Rather than lose him for nothing next summer, Madrid would rather cash in and sell him now.

Tottenham and AC Milan have allegedly already been offered the player.

Now Arsenal are also in the mix to sign him, according to the Daily Mirror.

This latest report claims that the Gunners have “contacted Asensio’s representatives to seek answers” about his and Real’s demands.

The former Mallorca ace is looking for assurances that he will get regular starts, something he has failed to get at Madrid.

Asensio is also happy to remain at Madrid and play out the final campaign of his package before leaving for nothing.

But Madrid are looking for a resolution and are waiting for him to finish national duty with Spain before resuming talks.

This latest report also states that Manchester United have enquired about Asensio’s situation.

But they have only “informally” asked about him and are yet to follow that up.
