Arsenal defender William Saliba set for Fulham loan transfer but Arteta could be stuck with Kolasinac

ARSENAL defender William Saliba is reportedly set to join Fulham on loan but boss Mikel Arteta could be stuck with Sead Kolasinac.

Saliba will be allowed to leave Arsenal and Fulham are favourites to sign him, according to The Telegraph reporter Sam Dean.

Arteta wants Saliba to go and get some first team experience

He also claims that while Saliba will leave, it’s less likely that Kolasinac will be heading to Bayern Leverkusen.

Dean tweeted: “Looks like Fulham is the most likely destination for William Saliba, who can leave #AFC on loan.

“There’s still time today but there’s currently not much optimism that a deal will be done with Leverkusen for Sead Kolasinac.”

Saliba, 29, signed for Arsenal in 2019 but has yet to have feature in the first team.

He spent last season on loan to Saint-Etienne on loan and impressed under former Leicester boss Claude Puel.

Gunners boss Arteta is keen to get him some regular playing time and Fulham are keen to give him some.

The youngster had also been linked with a move to French side Rennes and Premier League new-boys Leeds.

It was thought that a move back to his homeland and the chance of Champions League football would entice Saliba to Rennes but that hasn’t been the case.

Kolasinac had also been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates and Leverkusen were said to been keen on his signature.

The German outfit were seriously thinking about signing the Bosnian international, according to Sport Witness.

They claim that the club are looking to spend the cash they received from selling Kai Havertz to Chelsea, and want to bring in a top defender.

Kolasinac, 27, has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal with Kieran Tierney and Ainsley Maitland-Niles preferred instead.
