Arsenal eye SIX more transfers this summer including Ben White, Ruben Neves and Houssem Aouar as Arteta overhauls squad

ARSENAL are eyeing as many as SIX transfers this summer, according to reports.

The Gunners began their spending by recruiting young full-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica.

Ruben Neves is committed to Wolves… for now

And that’s just the beginning, with Mikel Arteta desperate to bolster his squad in order to improve on last season’s dreadful eighth place finish.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Spaniard is desperate to sign a right-sided centre-back, with Ben White top of his wishlist.

Arsenal are keen on recruiting a central defender, after allowing David Luiz to leave on a free transfer and loaning William Saliba to Marseille.

White is currently on holiday having been on Euro 2020 duty with England, with Arsenal ironing out the final details in a deal with Brighton owner Tony Bloom.

Others have been interested in White, but Arsenal are in ‘the driving seat’.

MIDFIELD TARGETS

The Gunners are also after a midfielder, despite having recruited Thomas Partey last summer.

Anderlecht starlet Albert Sambi Lokonga is on the verge of joining.

And he could be followed by Wolves star Ruben Neves, who is of interest to Arsenal.

But a deal won’t be straightforward, and the Portugal ace has starred in Wolves’ new kit launch.

Lyon’s France international midfielder Houssem Aouar is also a target of the North Londoners’.

But they are set to face competition from rivals Tottenham, who want to reunite him with his former Lyon pal Tanguy Ndombele.

Runar Alex Runarsson is being allowed to leave, meaning that the Gunners are shy of a deputy for Bernd Leno.

They are interested in Sheffield United stopper Aaron Ramsdale, who was in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Euros.

And they have also enquired for another of Southgate’s keepers, Sam Johnstone, who performed well for West Brom last season despite relegation.
