Arsenal fans make same X-rated joke after it emerges they are battling Tottenham for English centre-back talent

ARSENAL fans were making the same cheeky joke after reports emerged linking them with a transfer for Nathan Wood.

The England defender impressed on debut for the Three Lions’ Under-21 team.

Nathan Wood has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal and Tottenham

Arsenal fans all made the same X-rated joke involving Rob Holding

Following this, it has been reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano that Wood is attracting interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham.

But Arsenal fans were quick to consider the future centre-back pairing which may be seen at their club with a rather crude joke involving Rob Holding.

Taking to social media, one Gunners fan said: “Holding-wood…”

A second typed: “Holding wood partnership
?.”

A third commented: “Imagine him and holding together…. Holding Wood.”

A fourth remarked: “Three hours of YouTube comps then, A Holding-Wood partnership.”

Another found the x-rated comments funny, adding: “the holding wood comments
?
?
?.”

Wood has appeared 35 times in the Championship for Swansea this season.

He joined the Welsh side last summer in a £400,000 move from Middlesbrough.

Swansea boss Russell Martin has previously said how much of a loss Wood would be to them if he moved on in the summer.

He said: “He is a huge asset to the football club, on the pitch and off the pitch.

“He’s been amazing – a young man who has just grown and grown on the pitch and off the pitch as well.

“He is becoming a real leader in the group. He’s an incredible learner and he’s incredibly brave with the way that he plays. He will play at the very top, no doubt about it.

“He will be a huge asset financially at some point. I just hope we get a bit longer to work with him than one season, like Flynn [Downes], but we will have to wait and see.

“I look at him and he is 6ft 3in, he is built like a heavyweight boxer and he can run very fast.

“He displays unbelievable courage and technique on the ball… and just the amount of growth he has had this season – I do fear that [he could leave this summer].

“I don’t think it’s a bad fear to have. It’s one of the reasons we were brought to the club, to develop young players.

“But I would like to be able to keep a few together long enough for us to enjoy some success.

“I know he is doing incredible stuff for us and if he continues doing that until the end of the season, I am sure there will be a lot of admirers.”
