Arsenal make contact over Jesper Lindstrom transfer with Eintracht Frankfurt demanding £35m fee for midfielder

ARSENAL have made contact with Jesper Lindstrom over a transfer, according to reports.

The Danish midfielder has enjoyed a strong year at Eintracht Frankfurt but could be on the move in the summer.

Jesper Lindstrom is the subject of Arsenal transfer interest

Sky Germany reports the Gunners have already “made contact” with Lindstrom over a deal.

The report adds a “realistic” price on the deal will set the North London club back around £35million.

Lindstrom, 23, has scored nine goals and added four assists in 31 games this season.

Frankfurt sit sixth in the Bundesliga. They also have a semi-final spot in the DFB-Pokal but were knocked out of the Champions League last 16 by Napoli.

Despite this, a summer of change is expected to occur at the Bundesliga outfit.

Fellow stars Evan N’Dicka and Daichi Kamada are set to leave for free, while Lindstrom is set to be joined by Djibril Sow in catching a fee for Frankfurt.

It comes with manager Oliver Glasner also expected to leave.

Lindstrom would be expected to provide competition for Martin Odegaard and act as a deputy whenever the Norwegian playmaker sits out.

The relatively cheap nature of the deal will mean Arsenal can pursue other long-term targets such as Declan Rice or Dusan Vlahovic.

Mikel Arteta‘s side are on the home straight to an unexpected title.

They are next in action against Liverpool on Sunday, though Gunners fans are sceptical are the referee for the match was revealed.
