Arsenal offered shock Gini Wijnaldum loan transfer as former Liverpool midfielder chases PSG exit after just six months

ARSENAL could move for Georginio Wijnaldum as PSG’s ex-Liverpool midfielder ponders a swift Premier League return.

The Holland star is “not completely happy” at failing to start regularly for the French giants.

Dutchman Gini Wijnaldum is reportedly interested in a Prem return for January
Holland manager Louis Van Gaal has been ‘worried’ by Gini Wijnaldum’s reduced game time since his summer arrival at PSG

And Sky Sports suggest he would be interested in a January loan move back to England.

But it’s claimed PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is unwilling to lose him.

Former Newcastle ace Wijnaldum, 31, left Liverpool on a free transfer over the summer.

But since then only ten of his 20 appearances for PSG have been starts.

And Arsenal need midfield reinforcements, especially as Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny head to the Africa Cup of Nations next month.

Two months ago NOS quoted Wijnaldum as saying: “I can’t say I’m completely happy because the situation is not what I wanted.

“But that’s football and I’ll have to learn to deal with that. I’m a fighter.

“I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around.

“I was really looking forward to the new step and then this happens. It is very difficult.”

With the Qatar World Cup starting next November, Holland boss Louis van Gaal has also voiced fears about Wijnaldum’s in-and-out spell with PSG.

The ex-Manchester United chief said: “Of course I’m worried.

“I already talked to him about that when I arrived. But the alarm bells are not going off yet.”
