ARSENAL spent nearly £50MILLION more than they should have done in the summer transfer window, according to new research.
Manchester United were found to be the most savvy operators in the market, saving nearly £60MILLION on their new signings.
According to TicketGum.com, the collective value of Arsenal’s summer signings is £107.1m – but they spent a whopping £156.8m on them.
The Gunners splashed £50m on Ben White but it’s claimed the England defender is only worth £21.2m.
It’s also alleged they paid far too much for Aaron Ramsdale, with the goalkeeper valued at just £10.8MILLION.
That’s despite the England U21 stopper’s former club Sheffield United signing him from Bournemouth for £18.5m in 2020.
Man Utd are judged to have been the best operators in the market, underspending by a staggering £59.8m.
The market value of new signings Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho is said to be £193.5m – far more than what United paid.

World Cup winner Varane was an absolute bargain, arriving from Real Madrid for just £42m – making him cheaper than Arsenal’s White.
Other over-spenders include Man City, who are believed to have paid an extra £41.5MILLION for £100m man Jack Grealish.
Leeds are also thought to have paid over the odds for Daniel James, with their new £30m signing valued at just £16.2m.
In total, it’s claimed 12 Premier League clubs paid more than they should have done on their summer recruits.
Along with Arsenal, City and Leeds – Newcastle, Brentford, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Burnley are all judged to have overspent.
Man Utd, Norwich, Southampton, Leicester, Everton, Wolves, Watford and Brighton, meanwhile, can be be proud of their negotiating tactics.
