Arsenal ratings: Aubameyang proves he’s irreplaceable as Ceballos shines but Holding struggles in FA Cup final win

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG proved he is irreplaceable with a masterclass in the FA Cup final.

The striker equalised from the penalty spot before a cheeky chip secured Mikel Arteta’s men the silverware.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the oldest player to score for Arsenal in an FA Cup final since 1932

SunSport have rated all of Arsenal’s stars following the historic 2-1 win at Wembley.

Emiliano Martinez – 7

The keeper was called into action after just three minutes to deny Mount with a great stop.

But his joy was short-lived after Christian Pulisic broke the deadlock just two minutes later.

Aside from the early goal, he made a handful of simple saves and was quick off his line when called upon.

Rob Holding – 5

Looked out his depth when up against Pulisic in particular.

The defender’s lack of pace allowed Chelsea’s forwards to run riot and he looked nervous on the ball.

David Luiz – 7

The Brazilian defender managed to keep a lid on former Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud.

He kept things simple and was always looking to feed the ball out wide from the back.

Kieran Tierney – 6

The former Celtic star should have done more to stop Pulisic after his opener.

But that was the only time he pulled out of a tackle for the entire match.

Hector Bellerin – 6

Returned to the squad in place of Joe Willock after missing the Watford clash.

He deserves huge credit for the second goal after he charged up the pitch before passing the ball to Pepe, who found Aubameyang.

Granit Xhaka – 6

His partnership with Ceballos in the middle has improved him as a player significantly.

The 27-year-old helped the team out defensively and always looked up the pitch when in possession.

Dani Ceballos – 9

The Spaniard held his own in the middle in his brutal battle against Matteo Kovacic.

He came close to giving Arsenal the lead, but his free kick just glided over the woodwork.

Ceballos was at the heart of all of Arsenal’s attacks, worked relentlessly and battled until the very last minute.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles – 6

The 22-year-old offered Arsenal a great option down the left hand side.

He looked dangerous as he charged up the wing, but his final product needs work.

Nicolas Pepe – 7

The former Lyon star scored a screamer in the 24th minute from the edge of the box, but it was ruled out due to an offside in the build-up.

Looked dangerous with the ball at his feet and was not scared to go for goal.

Alexandre Lacazette – 6

The striker’s workrate was relentless, but he found himself marked out of the game at times.

He did not go for goal himself, but linked up well with Pepe and Aubameyang.

Was hauled off in the 80th minute and replaced by Eddie Nketiah.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 9

Won the penalty for Arsenal after he was pulled to the ground by Azpilicueta.

The club’s top scorer then stepped up and confidently struck the ball past Caballero from the spot.

Aubameyang then proved he is irreplaceable as he scored the second with a cheeky chip over Cabellero.
