Arsenal Reject £3m Bid from AS Monaco for Striker Folarin Balogun

Monaco's bid falls short

AS Monaco's £34 million bid for Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun has been swiftly rejected by the Gunners, according to reports. RMC Sport states that Arsenal values the 22-year-old much higher, effectively shutting down Monaco's interest in the promising forward.

The youngster catches Monaco's eye

Balogun's impressive loan spell at Stade Reims last season, where he netted 21 goals in Ligue 1, caught the attention of Monaco. Despite only making two appearances for Arsenal and enduring a lackluster loan stint at Middlesbrough, the young striker's standout season made him a priority target for the French club. Balogun's switch of international allegiance from England to the United States has further increased his profile.

Arsenal's hefty price tag

Arsenal has set a staggering £50 million price tag on Balogun's head, per CBS Sport. This valuation has turned Monaco towards alternative options, such as Lyon's Karl Toko-Ekambi. However, the Cameroonian forward has confirmed his move to Saudi Arabia, leaving Monaco to redirect their attention back to Balogun. Premier League teams, including Tottenham and West Ham, are also keeping tabs on the talented striker.

Tottenham and West Ham interested

Tottenham has joined the race to sign Balogun as they search for a suitable replacement for Harry Kane, who recently joined Bayern Munich. West Ham is also considering a potential swoop for the young striker as they look to bolster their front line. Additionally, Inter Milan has expressed interest in Balogun, but the £50 million valuation has cooled their enthusiasm, along with that of their city rivals, AC Milan.
