Arsenal ‘rekindle Cody Gakpo transfer interest but must wait until after PSV Eindhoven’s Champions League qualifier’

ARSENAL are reportedly back in for Cody Gakpo – but they will have to remain patient.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to further strengthen his new-look frontline with the flying Dutch winger, according to VI.

Cody Gakpo is now a regular with the Netherlands after a stunning season with PSV

But Gakpo’s club PSV are unlikely to sell any of their top stars until after a Champions League qualifier with Monaco on August 2.

That means any deal is unlikely to be done in time for the Gunners’ Prem opener at Crystal Palace on August 5.

Arsenal are thought to have renewed their interest in the seven-cap Netherlands star after seeing previous target Raphinha join Barcelona from Leeds.

Euro giants Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with Gakpo.

VI revealed in March that Arsenal were in pole position to sign the 23-year-old, who is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

Now the Dutch publication says the London giants are “once again very interested” but that he will will not come cheap.

Their report explains: “Eindhoven hope to keep Gakpo for the club this summer.

“And if Gakpo were to leave, then preferably towards the end of the window.
