Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli set to sign new long-term deal worth £200,000-a-week as talks with Saka continue

GABRIEL MARTINELLI is set to sign a new long-term contract at Arsenal worth £200,000-a-week, according to reports.

The Brazilian has impressed since moving to North London in 2019.

Gabriel Martinelli has been in red hot form for the Gunners

Martinelli’s current deal has 18 months left to run, with the Gunners having the option to trigger an extra 12 months.

But it appears they won’t have to, with Martinelli eager to agree new terms.

According to the Mail, the attacker is on the brink of committing his future to Arsenal.

And the £200k-a-week extension will make him one of the highest earners at the club.

The 21-year-old’s form saw him quickly become a target for some of Europe’s top clubs, including Barcelona.

But he decided he would rather stick around at Arsenal for the long haul.

Martinelli played three times for Brazil on their way to the World Cup quarter-finals in Qatar.

Prior to that, he scored five goals and assisted a further two in 14 Premier League outings for the Gunners this term.

He was part of a prolific attack also featuring fellow rising star Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal are keen to sew up a new deal for Saka too.

The 21-year-old’s deal, like Martinelli’s, is set to expire in June 2024.

Reports claim that negotiations over an extension for Saka will resume in the coming “weeks and months” – with Arsenal keen to reach an agreement before the end of the season.
