Arsenal still confident of landing PSG full-back Layvin Kurzawa on free transfer with doubts over Tierney

ARSENAL are reportedly still confident of landing Paris Saint-Germain full-back Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer.

The Gunners were strongly linked with a move for the Frenchman in January but a move never materialised, with Mikel Arteta instead bringing in Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares to add defensive reinforcements.

Arsenal are set to launch a fresh bid to sign PSG full-back Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer this summer

However, the 27-year-old’s contract with PSG expires in the summer and is unlikely to stay at the club after falling behind Juan Bernat in the pecking order.

And France Football claim Arsenal are still monitoring his progress and would be willing to sign him as a free agent when the season ends.

The French magazine state that the north London club “aren’t letting go of the situation” and are still “actively following” the defender.

A lack of funds thwarted the Arsenal’s attempts to sign Kurzawa in January, while Juventus pulled out of a potential swap deal involving Mattia De Sciglio.

The Gunners have continued to struggle at left-back this season following injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac.

Youngster Bukayo Saka has impressed for Arteta deputising in their absence but is not a natural defender.

Kurzawa’s arrival could fuel reports Arsenal are ready to cut their losses on Tierney after injuries have restricted the Scottish international to just 11 games in all competitions this season.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly desperate to reunite with the ex-Celtic star as a replacement for Ben Chilwell.

England ace Chilwell has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his ageing squad.

While the Foxes would be prepared to offer Arsenal £25million for Tierney – the same price the Gunners paid the Hoops for his signature last summer.
