Arsenal want Joao Felix transfer as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster attack this summer but Atletico Madrid want £120m fee

ARSENAL are reportedly chasing a stunning deal for Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix.

But the Spanish champions want a whopping £120million fee for their key attacker.

Arsenal want Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix but could be forced to shell out £120m

El Chiringuito claims Mikel Arteta is desperate to shake up Arsenal’s front line this summer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was allowed to join Barcelona on a free transfer last month.

Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah look destined to leave when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

And Arteta apparently has his eye on Felix to lead Arsenal’s line in the next campaign.

The Portugal international, 22, cost £113m when Atleti signed him from Benfica in 2019.

Felix has gone on to score 23 goals in 100 outings for the LaLiga giants, leading them to last year’s title.

However, boss Diego Simeone has apparently made Valencia star Goncalo Guedes his top target this summer.

And the Argentina tactician is willing to sacrifice Felix as a result.

But Atletico want to recoup the fee – and then some – they paid Benfica nearly three years ago.

That would mean Arsenal may need to cough up as much as £120m for Felix’s services.

Journalist Eduardo Inda said: “Joao Felix is a very good player. Arsenal want him.

“Simeone, if he continues, wants to bring Guedes. His objective is to change Felix for Guedes.

“The problem that Atletico has is that he cost 120million euros and recovering it is something that can only be done if he is sold to the Premier League.”
