Arsenal wonderkid Omari Hutchinson, 18, named on bench vs Brentford after fairytale dream call-up to first-team

ARSENAL youngster Omari Hutchinson has been named on the bench for today’s game against Brentford.

The 18-year-old was promoted to the first team earlier this week after impressing for the U23s.

Hutchinson has impressed the Arsenal bosses with his performances for the U23s

And he has promptly been included in the matchday squad for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Teenage forward Hutchinson – whose style of play has been likened to Manchester City ace Raheem Sterling – will be hoping to make his debut as soon as possible.

Arsenal youth blogger Jeorge Bird, confirmed ahead of the Brentford clash that Hutchinson was training with the senior side.

He tweeted: “Omari Hutchinson has been training with the first team.

“With Martinelli suspended at least one academy player will be on the bench v Brentford.

“Not guaranteed to be Hutchinson but he is probably the most similar in terms of position.”

Hutchinson found himself on the bench for Arsenal’s 0-0 draw at home against Burnley last month.

But with Arsenal chasing a goal, Arteta decided against throwing on the youngster for his senior debut.

Hutchinson has earned rave reviews when playing for the Under-23s this term – chipping in with seven goals and six assists in 18 games.

He sent Gunners fans wild in October after he produced a stunning backheel assist in the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.

Supporters were also left fawning over the player in August following an incredible solo goal in the 4-2 win over Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking to avenge the 2-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Brentford on the opening day of the season.
