Arteta refuses to confirm Guendouzi will be at Arsenal next year amid Man Utd, Real Madrid and Barcelona transfer link

MANCHESTER UNITED, Barcelona and Real Madrid have got the green light to go for Arsenal outcast Matteo Guendouzi – after Gunners boss Mikel Arteta suggested he could be on the way out at The Emirates.

Guendouzi was dropped by Arteta for the trip to Southampton on Thursday following his antics and ill-discipline in the defeat to Brighton.

Matteo Guendouzi and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta have clashed and this could see the end of the midfielder’s Gunners career

The Gunners chief publicly rebuked the Frenchman, who in turn reportedly suggested he could quit North London.

United, as well as the LaLiga giants, want the 21-year-old midfielder.

Despite his short fuse, ‘Sideshow Bob’ lookalike Guendouzi has impressed since his £7million move from Lorient in 2018.

Arsenal held its own disciplinary hearing after the incident at Brighton when Guendouzi grabbed Seagulls striker Neal Maupay by the throat.

After that meeting, Guendouzi made it clear he would quit the club, according to reports in France.

Arteta remains tightlipped, although unimpressed with the Frenchman’s antics.

He said: “Whatever internal issues we have, we will deal with them privately and I am never going to make any of that public.

“All the players that are here, I am counting on them.

“If they want to jump on the boat they are more than welcome and that’s always my mindset.

“I am here to help all of them to improve individually and collectively. That is my job.”

But the Spaniard’s patience is wearing thin with Guendouzi.

He has earned a reputation after bragging about his wages and getting a stupid booking for sarcasm.

However, Guendouzi could still be thrown back into the starting line-up for tomorrow’s FA cup quarter-final with Sheffield United.

But the incident has opened the door to a summer move, with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer interested as he pursues back-up for defensive midfielders Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay.
