Aston Villa Keeper Emiliano Martinez Monitored by Bayern Munich

Bundesliga Champions Interested in Martinez

Reports suggest that Bayern Munich is monitoring Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez for a potential transfer. The German champions are in need of a new keeper following the signing of Harry Kane. Martinez has caught the attention of Bayern as they search for a replacement for the injured Manuel Neuer. The club had previously considered Chelsea's Kepa Arrizalbalaga but he has since joined Real Madrid on loan.

Difficult to Secure Martinez's Transfer

While Bayern Munich is interested in Martinez, it may prove challenging to persuade him to leave Villa Park. Martinez is seen as a crucial member of the squad and is under contract until 2027. According to sources, it would require a world record fee for a goalkeeper to sign the Argentine.

Premier League Alternatives: David de Gea and Stefan Ortega

If Bayern fails to secure Martinez's transfer, they are reportedly considering two other Premier League goalkeepers. The first is David de Gea, who is currently a free agent after being released by Manchester United. Talks have allegedly taken place between Bayern and De Gea, but the club is not willing to meet his wage demands. The second option is Stefan Ortega, who currently plays for Manchester City. Ortega has two years left on his City contract and has mainly served as a backup to Ederson. A move to Bayern could be appealing for him.
