Barcelona plot transfers for FIVE Man City stars including Sterling and Gundogan and willing to offer player in return

The LaLiga giants have already turned to Pep Guardiola’s squad to sign Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero on free transfers.

Barcelona wants FIVE Man City stars this summer including Jesus, Sterling and Mahrez, say various reports

But after missing out on Georginio Wijnaldum – with Paris Saint-Germain winning the race for the free agent – Barca are set to turn back to City with FIVE Etihad stars in sight.

To fill the void of Wijnaldum, Spanish outlets El Chiringuito TV and Sport have claimed Ronald Koeman wants in-form Ilkay Gundogan.

El Chiringuito TV even claims Barcelona have met with the agents of both Gundogan AND Riyad Mahrez after their sensational seasons.

Madrid-based Sky Sports journalist Matteo Moretto has claimed Barcelona are pondering a move for Raheem Sterling.

And Sport have also claimed Barcelona are in the market for Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus in a staggering raid of City.

Barcelona are keen for reinforcements all over the pitch after another disappointing season in which they finished third in LaLiga and crashed out of the Champions League in the last-16 stage.

Mahrez would provide cover for Messi or even allow the Argentine icon to slip into a more central role.

The ex-Leicester man would also be a strong replacement for Messi should he quit this summer.

The centre-back spots have long been a problem area for the club, despite boasting the likes of Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique.

Re-signing La Masia product Garcia is a start for Barca, but they also want Laporte.

Barcelona chiefs believe they have a chance of signing the now-Spain international thanks to Ruben Dias’ rock-solid partnership with John Stones.

Laporte no longer being No1 choice means not only could the player want out but City could be more open to selling.

Sterling, too, has seen his game-time increasingly limited thanks to the emergence of England team-mate Phil Foden.

And Guardiola has made it clear he won’t trust Jesus to be his No1 option to replace Aguero, turning to the transfer market to sign one of Harry Kane or Erling Haaland.

Barcelona also want to bring in Gundogan and Laporte from the Etihad in a busy summer

City may need the money to complete one of those deals – both of which will cost at least £150m – and could sell some big-name stars to make it happen.

Reports claim Barcelona are willing to offer players in return, with Sergi Roberto tipped to move the other way.

In fact, Sky Sports claim the Spanish side will HAVE to move players on as they can’t afford to bring in any new players without balancing the books by offloading another.

Sport claim Barcelona are looking to actively offload Umtiti with the Frenchman out of favour at the Nou Camp.

But others are likely to follow out the door in what could be a busy summer.
