Barcelona ‘reject monster £135million bid from Man Utd for Ansu Fati’ as Solskjaer and Co chase Jadon Sancho alternative

BARCELONA have turned down a staggering £135million offer for wonderkid Ansu Fati, according to reports.

The bid is believed to have come from Manchester United who are in the market for a new winger.

Ansu Fati was the subject of a huge £135m bid

Fati, 17, is touted to fill Lionel Messi’s boots when the Argentine’s contract expires next summer.

According to Marca, Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes told Barca chiefs that a club had made an offer for his client worth an initial £114m with an added £21m in add-ons.

But Barcelona, who are trying to raise cash of their own, are not interested in entering negotiations.

Man United have a strong interest in Fati following his breakthrough campaign last season.

But the boy wonder is set to stay at the Nou Camp and recently penned a new deal that included a £367m release clause.

He was also officially promoted to the first-team last week after being handed the No22 shirt left vacant by Arturo Vidal.

His new deal, that expires in 2024, is a two-year extension while his release clause has also been increased by £211m.

He became the club’s second youngest player when he made his debut last August at the age of 16 years and 298 days.

Fati then announced himself at the club’s youngest ever scorer just six days later.

The records continued to tumble and last September he became the youngest player in La Liga history to score and assist in the same game.

In the same month, he became Barca’s youngest ever star to play in the Champions League.

Internationally, Fati broke a 95-year record to become Spain’s youngest goalscorer in a 4-0 win against Ukraine earlier this month.

United will not be deterred in their hopes of signing a new wide man and are continuing their pursuit of Jadon Sancho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are willing to pay £90m for the Borussia Dortmund superstar but the German club are standing firm in their £108m valuation.

A new winger is likely to see Welshman Daniel James leave on loan.

Leeds are interested in signing the 22-year-old who has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.
