BBC One’s live FA Cup coverage hit by ‘porn noises’ as YouTube pranksters hide mobile on the set of Wolves v Liverpool

FOOTBALL fans were left stunned as a bizarre noise interrupted BBC’s build-up to Wolves vs Liverpool.

Pundits Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer struggled to hide their embarrassment as they were forced to compete with an odd noise that some viewers likened to a porn film.

Gary Lineker was left in shock at the noises being played in the background

The BBC present revealed exactly where the noise was coming from

The noise started just moments before the FA Cup third round replay was about to get underway.

It was first played as Lineker went live to co-commentator Shearer who was waiting to speak to him in the stadium.

Lineker started laughing and said: “I don’t know who’s making that noise.

“I don’t know if somebody is sending a joke on someone’s phone, I don’t know if you heard it at home.”

Being the professional that he is, Lineker continued to present the show impeccably despite the sound simply not going away.

It kept stopping and then restarting almost immediately.

Once the game had started, Shearer joked that it was coming from Danny Murphy’s phone with the ex-Liverpool man also in the studio.

But Lineker took to Twitter to reveal exactly what had happened.

He uploaded a photo of a phone stuck to the back of the set.

The caption said: “Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing.

Fans have been reacting on social media to Lineker’s Tweet.

One joked: “Was genuinely worried Danny Murphy was having the time of his life out of shot.”

A second said: “Absolutely incredible work from you in that situation. I can’t even imagine what must be going through your head

A third chimed in with: “Deserves to be in a museum that thing

A comedian has since owned up to the prank.

The Youtuber, whose account name is Jarvo69, hosted a live stream as he hijacked the BBC’s coverage.

He proudly announces at the beginning of the video: “Here we are, we have set up a phone with a loud sex noise in the BBC studios at the Wolves v Liverpool FA Cup replay.”

Jarvo69 watches the coverage with his phone held carefully in hand, waiting for the moment to pull off his practical joke.

The strange feel to the evening continued in the early minutes of the contest after a power cut saw the floodlights flick off and forced the game to be stopped.

It also caused the VAR monitors to stop working.

Fortunately, the pause was brief and the tie resumed relatively swiftly.

At half-time, Lineker, talking about Liverpool’s opener goal, said: “Harvey Elliott’s goal was a screamer which is not the only one we’ve had tonight.”
