‘Big up legend’ – Kylian Mbappe pays tribute to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry after scoring last-gasp winner for PSG

KYLIAN MBAPPE paid tribute to hero Thierry Henry after firing in a last-minute winner for Paris Saint-Germain against Rennes on Friday.

The striker, 23, sprinted to the corner flag after scoring and lent on it – recreating a pose Henry struck while playing for New York Red Bulls.

After the match Mbappe took to social media to share the photos side by side, captioning the post: “Big up legend…”

The moods of the two players were vastly different however – Mbappe ecstatic after scoring and Arsenal legend Henry despondent after missing a chance.

Mbappe has plenty of reason to be happy with PSG flying high in the league.

The win over Rennes stretched their lead at the top of Ligue Un to 16 points, with a showdown against Real Madrid in the Champions League awaiting midweek.

The Frenchman is also performing brilliantly on a personal level, taking his season’s tally to 21 goals with the strike.

And given the amount of goals he scores, Mbappe often comes up with special celebrations.

His trademark celebration where he tucks his hands under his armpit was inspired by his younger brother Ethan, who did it during a game of FIFA between the pair.

In the past Mbappe has also celebrated by nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders in front of the PSG fans.

He also created the iconic crying celebration which has since been adopted by other players.

Mbappe has managed to ignore the speculation surrounding his future by continuing to score goals, though last week stated he will decide his future until the tie against Real is over.
