SCOTLAND star Billy Gilmour has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Chelsea midfielder will now self-isolate for 10 days and miss the Scots’ crucial Euro 2020 final Group D game against Croatia on Tuesday.
A Scottish FA statement read: “The Scottish FA can confirm that a member of the Scotland National Team playing squad, Billy Gilmour, has tested positive for COVID-19.
“Having liaised with Public Health England since the positive test was recorded, Billy will now self-isolate for 10 days and therefore miss tomorrow’s UEFA EURO 2020 Group D match against Croatia at Hampden.”
It is not yet known how Gilmour’s positive test will affect England after the 20-year-old shone against the Three Lions at Wembley on Friday night.
Scotland’s players are regularly tested and will continue to be routinely tested to check if Gilmour’s is an isolated case.
SunSport has contacted England and Scotland to confirm each country’s next steps.
