Brave fan pays for cardboard cut out of Roy Keane holding a Mr Whippy in Nottingham Forest stands vs Huddersfield

A BRAVE Nottingham Forest fan has had Roy Keane immortalised at the City Ground – with the Irishman holding a Mr Whippy.

The Manchester United legend made his name in England at Forest, starring for Brian Clough for three years before his big move to Old Trafford.

Keane, who joined the club from Irish side Cobh Ramblers in 1990, played more than 150 games for Forest and won the Full Members’ Cup in 1992.

Like other clubs across Europe during lockdown, Forest have decided to fill their empty seats with cut outs of fans.

As well as Keane, Forest legends Stuart Pearce and Stan Collymore were included – as well as a couple of more quirky entries.

Where’s Wally also had a seat, but wasn’t very well hidden and was spotted by a photographer.

But there’s more to the Keane photo – in fact, it’s Peter Crouch’s doing.

On his podcast, Crouch has revealed dozens of brilliant selfies and fan pictures with the notoriously grumpy football legend.

One such photo is Keane with the ice cream.

A Twitter page has now been dedicated to hilarious fan pictures taken alongside Keane – with the Irishman barely raising a smile in any of them.

An image of terrorist Osama Bin Laden was put up at Elland Road

Fellow Championship side also included cardboard cut outs at Elland Road, but had a rather less humorous entrant than Keane.

Somehow, terrorist Osama Bin Laden’s likeness was printed and set out at the stadium.

Leeds later removed the image and promised that “checks are in place to ensure there are no more offensive images”.
