MANCHESTER UNITED fans made their contempt for those running the club known during their clash against Aston Villa with a banner which read ‘broken and rotten from top to bottom’.

The Red Devils suffered more anguish at Villa Park on Saturday evening as they threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Steven Gerrard’s men.

And Man Utd fans made their case about the problems at the club with the strongly worded message hung over the railings of the away end.

Reacting to the banner, one supporter said: “Doesn’t matter who comes in as the next manager.

“Doesn’t matter what players the club signs.

“As long as the clowns calling the shots at the club are there, this club will never be successful.”

And another added: “Players like Martial not wanting to play now. Get rid of all these players. Start again.

“Don’t give stupid contract offers to Pogba and Co and beg them to stay. Get rid of all the old, overpaid and over-hyped players that think they’re bigger than the club.”

Man Utd currently sit seventh in the Premier League table with just nine wins from 20 games so far this season.

They changed managers earlier on in the campaign when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked and Ralf Rangnick was brought in on a temporary basis until the summer.

There is also set to be a change on the board as Richard Arnold prepares to replace Ed Woodward as chief executive from February 1.

And while results have improved somewhat on the pitch in recent weeks – four wins, three draws and one defeat from eight Prem games under Rangnick – the performances remain under par.

The futures of a number of players in the squad also appear to be up in the air.

Anthony Martial did not travel with the team for the Villa game and Rangnick said the player did not want to be selected.

But the Frenchman then hit back at his coach by insisting that was not the case.

Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Dean Henderson and Donny van de Beek will be at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season.
