BRUNO FERNANDES is going to great lengths to make himself at home in Manchester.
And his dedication to the cause has left team-mates joking he is their answer to Liverpool’s James Milner!
The Portuguese’s January arrival coincided with storms and a brutal cold snap.
Yet the £46.6million man refused all offers of gloves and skins from kitmen.
Fernandes, 25, said he wants to acclimatise to our British weather as soon as possible after three years at Sporting Lisbon.
Midfielder Milner is also well-known for wearing shorts and short-sleeved shirts in all conditions.
And playmaker Fernandes has certainly hit the ground running, starring again in Sunday’s 2-0 Manchester derby win.
A United insider said: “It’s been hammering it down at training, the wind was blowing sideways and the new guy from sunny Portugal’s putting most of the lads to shame.
“He’s another Milner, no messing about — he just gets out there whatever the weather.
“We’ve joked he’s already losing his tan!”
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba has reportedly been staying late for extra training as he bids to return for United this month – and link up with Fernandes.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “Paul’s still working with the physios outside and he won’t be training with the first-team until next week.
“Then let’s see how long that will take. He needs time to get his football fitness back.”
