Burnley Makes £9.5m Transfer Bid for Forgotten Premier League Attacker

Premier League newcomers Burnley have set their sights on a forgotten top-flight attacker in a bid to bolster their chances of survival in the upcoming season.

Burnley Aiming to Strengthen Attack

Burnley, who have already made ten new signings during this summer transfer window, are hoping to add one more player to their squad. The club recently secured the services of Sander Berge from fellow Premier League side Sheffield United, and Englishman James Trafford from Manchester City. Now, they have turned their attention to Dodi Lukebakio, a former Premier League player previously at Watford.

Belgian Striker Being Eyed by Burnley

Belgian forward Dodi Lukebakio is currently training away from the rest of the Hertha Berlin squad as he looks to secure a move away from the club. Since Hertha's relegation, Lukebakio has caught the attention of Burnley and the club is reportedly set to make an offer of £9.5m for his services. Capped eight times by Belgium, Lukebakio had a short spell in the Premier League with Watford, but failed to make a significant impact.

Impressive Loan Spell in Bundesliga

Following his time at Watford, Lukebakio spent a season on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf, where he showcased his abilities by scoring 14 goals and providing five assists. In 2019, he completed a permanent move from Watford to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin for a reported fee of £20 million.

Burnley Hopeful of Completing the Deal

Burnley is looking to finalize the transfer for the 25-year-old forward in order to strengthen their attack even further for the upcoming Premier League season. With a bid of £9.5m on the table, the club hopes to secure Lukebakio's signature before the transfer window closes.
