Callum Hudson-Odoi Considers International Future Amidst Interest from Ghana

Switching Allegiances

Callum Hudson-Odoi, the Nottingham Forest star, has given an update on his international future as Ghana expresses interest in landing the former Chelsea winger. Despite being capped three times by England in 2019, the 22-year-old has been out of the international picture since then. Due to his age and not playing in more than three competitive England fixtures, Hudson-Odoi is still eligible to switch his allegiance. With Ghana being an option, the winger is carefully considering his decision.

Undecided Future

Hudson-Odoi revealed to The Telegraph that he is still contemplating the decision of representing Ghana. He sees it as a "very good option" but is yet to make up his mind. He hopes that once he starts playing games for Nottingham Forest, either Gareth Southgate or Ghana will come forward. Hudson-Odoi acknowledges that it is a nice position to be in and expects to know his future sooner rather than later.

Past Youth Success

The winger has represented England in various youth age groups and was a part of the Under-17 side that won the World Cup six years ago. During that time, his manager Steve Cooper played a crucial role in convincing him to join Forest from Chelsea in a £3 million deal. With £2 million potentially coming in as add-ons, Hudson-Odoi looks set to make his debut for Nottingham Forest tonight against Burnley.

Playing History

Having played 126 times for Chelsea and scoring 16 goals, Hudson-Odoi's loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen last season proved to be less successful. He found the back of the net only once in 21 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit. Now, all eyes are on his Nottingham Forest debut, where he hopes to make a strong impression.
