CARLO ANCELOTTI used Liverpool’s iconic Champions League win in 2005, to prove that Real Madrid CAN throw away the La Liga title.
The dramatic comeback, 17 years ago, is considered by many to be one of the most thrilling finals of all-time.

Liverpool took home the Champions League title that night, after trailing 3-0 at half time
Ancelotti’s AC Milan were cruising to a 3-0 lead at half-time before a once-in-a-lifetime fightback.
It has been dubbed the ‘Miracle of Istanbul’.
Now Madrid boss, Ancelotti was asked if it was possible for them to blow the lead at the top.
As reported by LaLigaTV, he was asked: “You’re 10 points ahead with 10 games to go, how can you lose the league?”

After cruising past Mallorca on Monday night, Ancelotti produced the analogy.
With only ten games left to play, even 62 year-old Ancelotti mustn’t think there will be a throwaway lead reminiscent of that famous night.
The man taking all the plaudits that evening was his opposition manager that evening, Rafa Benitez.

In a tactical masterstroke, Benitez hauled off right-back Steven Finnan at half-time and brought on defensive midfielder Dietmar Hamann in a bid to take Kaka out of the game.
Liverpool went on to score three times in a six-minute blitz shortly after the break to leave the Italians shell-shocked.
Jerzy Dudek then pulled off an heroic double-save in extra-time and pulled-off the famous “wobbly legs” in the penalty shootout to see the Reds famously win their fifth Champions League title.
If they can get past Arsenal on Wednesday night, Liverpool will be just a single point behind Man City in the race for the Premier League.
