Chelsea and Antonio Rudiger are NOT in talks over new deal with defender set to leave on free transfer at end of season

ANTONIO RUDIGER and Chelsea are reportedly NOT in talks over a contract extension with the centre-back poised to depart on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is free to reach a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.

Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger recently helped the West London outfit win the Club World Cup

Rudiger is believed to have no shortage of suitors should he leave Stamford Bridge after five years of service.

European giants Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich have all been linked securing his services.

Meanwhile Premier League rivals Manchester United are claimed to be eyeing up a shock swoop to bring him to Old Trafford in the summer.

And interested clubs have received a boost in their pursuit of the German with the player not in negotiations to extend his stay in West London.

That is according to Sky Sports, who state that Chelsea are yet to hand the ex-Roma star fresh terms.

They add that Los Blancos are in talks with Rudiger’s team about bringing him to the Bernabeu.

And PSG and the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on his situation at Chelsea.

In order for Rudiger to remain in the capital, it has been said that they must make him the highest-paid defender in the Premier League.

It has previously been reported how Rudiger is demanding a whopping £225,000-a-week AND a signing on bonus to stay at Chelsea.

After helping Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Palmeiras 2-1 to win the Club World Cup, Rudiger revealed he is happy at Chelsea.

He told The Athletic: “I feel great here, I have always said it. I think the way I play you can see that I’m happy here.

“But there are also other people who have to make decisions.”

No Chelsea player has had more game time than Rudiger this season, with the centre-half featuring in 34 games in all competitions.

As well as Rudiger, Chelsea could also see Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta depart on free transfers.
