Inspired by the 1990s, the dark blue shirt features a diamond pattern and gold trim, which the club describes as the "perfect look for Chelsea away." However, fans have pointed out that the kit bears a striking resemblance to Chelsea's traditional blue home shirt.
Concerns and Reactions
Many fans have taken to social media to express their concerns. One fan tweeted, "Why would your away kit be almost identical in colour to your home kit??" Another added, "How can the home & away kit colour clash?" A third fan commented, "I like it, but I thought an away shirt was supposed to be a different colour to blue." Additionally, there were remarks about Chelsea's decision to have two kits with very similar colors for the season.
Debut Postponed
Chelsea is yet to release their third kit for the 2023/24 season, and fans are anxiously waiting for more variety. As for the new away kit, it will not make its debut until after the international break, at the earliest. The first opportunity for fans to catch a glimpse of the new kit in action will be when Mauricio Pochettino's side travels to Bournemouth on September 17 for their next away match.
