CHELSEA fans turned to goad Tottenham supporters as they watched their side book their place in April’s Carabao Cup final.

Behind the away section in the lower North-East corner of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sit corporate hospitality boxes housing home supporters.

Stewards were on hand to intervene

And this fact didn’t go unnoticed by jubilant Chelsea fans.

Blues supporters entertained themselves by singing ‘Tottenham get battered’ for much of the evening.

They turned to mock Spurs supporters behind them.

There didn’t appear to be any violence but stewards were on hand to intervene just in case.

Dressed in high-vis jackets, they attempted to form a line between the two sets of fans.

Chelsea had much to cheer during this League Cup semi.

The Blues had already led 2-0 on aggregate thanks to last week’s win at Stamford Bridge.

And things got even better for them just 18 minutes into this one when Antonio Rudiger profited from a Pierluigi Gollini clanger to head home.

Spurs thought they had earned a penalty on the stroke of half-time when Rudiger fouled Hojbjerg.

But following a lengthy VAR check the infringement was adjudged to have occurred outside the 18-yard box.

The home side were then awarded another penalty in the second-half when Lucas Moura was adjudged to have been brought down by Kepa Arrizabalaga – only for this one also be overruled.

Harry Kane then had the ball in the net, before VAR deemed him narrowly offside.

The occasion was marred late on when play had to be halted for five minutes for a ‘medical emergency’ in the South Stand to be seen to.

When proceedings resumed five minutes later Chelsea saw out their 1-0 win.

The Blues will face Arsenal or Liverpool in the final at Wembley.
