Chelsea fans left bewildered as Hakim Ziyech completes Galatasaray transfer on unusual terms

Fans of Chelsea Football Club were left in disbelief as winger Hakim Ziyech made a surprising move to Turkish champions Galatasaray. Ziyech, who struggled to make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from Ajax in 2020, with only 14 goals and 13 assists in 107 appearances, has joined Galatasaray on loan.

The bizarre loan deal

However, it is the terms of this loan deal that have left Chelsea fans baffled. According to reports from the Evening Standard, Ziyech will leave on a free loan deal, with the option for Galatasaray to purchase him for free. Later reports suggested that the buy clause is actually mandatory, and Galatasaray may have to pay performance-based fees. In addition, a significant portion of Ziyech's wages will no longer be the responsibility of Chelsea.

Fans express confusion and frustration

Despite this clarification, Chelsea fans remain confused and frustrated by the arrangement for a player the club signed for £37million just three years ago. On social media, fans expressed their astonishment and disbelief at the unusual terms of the deal.

One fan tweeted, "I have never heard of a free loan with the option of a free purchase ever. Ziyech should be embarrassed."

Another commented, "He's a better player than that, some poor management there."

A third fan stated, "Option to buy him for free? Wtf."

One fan questioned, "You can't buy a player for free, can you?"

And another simply wrote, "Makes no sense at all lol."

It remains to be seen how Ziyech will perform at Galatasaray and if this loan deal will ultimately benefit both clubs involved.
