Chelsea join Juventus in transfer chase for 18-year-old Brazilian striker Kaio Jorge – dubbed ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’

CHELSEA have joined the race to sign Santos striker Kaio Jorge this summer, according to reports.

The 18-year-old, who has been likened to Cristiano Ronaldo, has also been linked to Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen.

Kaio Jorge stole the show at Under-17 World Cup last year

According to German source Kicker, Frank Lampard will make his move for Jorge in the upcoming transfer window.

And the Blues have been handed a huge boost as he shares the same representative as former Chelsea pair David Luiz and Oscar.

Chelsea have worked closely with agent Giuliano Bertolucci over the years.

Juventus were said to be winning for the race for the youngster’s signature before the coronavirus pandemic.

He is under contract with Santos until 2022 after he penned a three-year deal with the club in January 2019.

The striker has only scored one goal for Santos, but he proved his potential as he scored five goals at the Under-17 World Cup last year.

When quizzed about the transfer speculation recently, Jorge kept tight-lipped and left his future in the hands of his agent.

He said: “I leave these things to my agent. I don’t get involved, he manages them.

“Right now I’m very happy at Santos and I want to keep doing well, growing and improving my football.

“Every day I learn something new and get stronger.”

Jorge has been tipped to be the ‘next Ronaldo‘ because of his superb technique, quick feet and great aerial ability.
