Chelsea ‘line-up Joao Felix loan transfer with Atletico Madrid desperate to sell £107m record signing after Simeone row’

CHELSEA are plotting a January loan move for Atletico Madrid ace Joao Felix, according to reports.

The Spanish club are said to be desperate to sell the forward following an alleged fall out with Diego Simeone.

Chelsea reportedly want to sign Joao Felix on loan in January

Felix arrived at Atletico for a club-record £107million fee back in 2019, but has scored just 33 goals in all comps.

And now the Portugal international has slipped down the pecking order under Simeone.

He hasn’t started in the league since September and only started half of their six Champions League group matches.

As a result, a winter exit looks on the cards and the Telegraph claim that Chelsea are plotting a loan offer.

The report states the Blues would be interested in a temporary switch with an obligation to buy in the summer.

Felix might have fallen out of favour for Atletico, but he still started four of Portugal’s five games at the World Cup.

And the 23-year-old made a difference, registering one goal and two assists.

As a result, Felix is still highly rated around Europe with both Manchester United and Arsenal also keen on his services.

Chelsea have already bolstered their frontline with the addition of Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku.

But the Frenchman won’t arrive until the end of the season and Graham Potter wants instant additions to improve their top four chances.

The Blues are ninth in the table ahead of their match with Bournemouth.
