Chelsea ‘plot £200m Italy transfer spending spree on Miralem Pjanic, Lautaro Martinez and Gianluigi Donnarumma’

CHELSEA are plotting an ambitious triple summer swoop of Serie A, according to reports.

Frank Lampard has so far been unable to add to his squad since being appointed, with the Blues having been banned last summer – and then having failed to secure any of their January targets.

That could be about to change in sensational fashion, however, with reports in Italy claiming that the West Londoners are willing to spend £200million on raiding Italy’s top-flight.

The Chelsea boss has so far opted to trust his talented young players, but certainly won’t decline new recruits, with Ajax schemer Hakim Ziyech having agreed to become the first of the Lampard era.

And now the 41-year-old is said to be targeting Miralem Pjanic, Lautaro Martinez and Gianluigi Donnarumma from Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan respectively.

Pjanic would provide an upgrade on current No5 Jorginho, and with Juve currently overloaded with midfielders, may choose to cash in on the 29-year-old in favour of keeping Rodrigo Bentancur.

Regardless, it would take around £55million for the Blues to prise the classy Bosnian metronome from Turin.

Chelsea were desperate to sign a forward in January, having almost entirely relied on academy striker Tammy Abraham this season.

Moves for Moussa Dembele and Dries Mertens failed to come to fruition, however Martinez could now be their primary target.

The 22-year-old has scored 16 goals this season, and has drawn rave reviews for his performances alongside Romelu Lukaku for ex Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s side.

The Argentine possesses a £101million release clause, however, and Inter are reportedly making provisions for his exit – with Arsenal front man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a target.

Goalkeeper has been a problem position this season in West London, with £71million stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga having never totally convinced.

The Spaniard was dropped in four consecutive Premier League matches for veteran Willy Caballero, before returning in wins over Liverpool and Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could be available for as little as £47million this summer, with AC Milan desperately seeking to raise funds, and the 21-year-old could provide a great option for the Blues – should they manager to shift Kepa.

The Italian’s stock has fallen slightly, but having already made 190 appearances for Milan, he is still a highly-rated option.

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, three points clear of resurgent Manchester United.

And Lampard’s side are looking good to be able to offer Champions League football next term, whether this season is resumed or not.
