Chelsea prepare to offload NINE players as transfer window nears end

Chelsea Football Club could be saying goodbye to nine more players before the transfer window slams shut, with owner Todd Boehly set to pocket a tidy sum of around £156 million. The Blues are eager to offload star striker Romelu Lukaku, who seems to have no place in the squad at Stamford Bridge. Lukaku, 30, has been rumored to be returning to Inter Milan, as well as attracting interest from Juventus and Tottenham. If Lukaku does leave, Chelsea may have to take a significant hit on the £97.5 million they paid for him, with a possible fee of £35 million being discussed.

Conor Gallagher also on the chopping block

In addition to Lukaku, another player who could be shown the exit door is Conor Gallagher. Chelsea are keen to get rid of the 21-year-old midfielder, and a potential move to West Ham United is in the cards. Last month, West Ham's offer of £40 million for Gallagher was rejected, but with the recent arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, the Blues may now be willing to accept that sum.

Departures at other positions

Hakim Ziyech is closing in on an £8 million move to Galatasaray, while defender Marc Cucurella is being eyed by Newcastle for a potential fee of around £30 million. Centre-backs Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr could also be on the way out, with Chelsea looking to fetch up to £20 million for the duo. Left-back Ian Maatsen, who has made only two appearances for the club since joining in 2019, could leave for around £10 million, along with fellow defender Lewis Hall, who is also a potential £8 million exit.

Fulham closing in on Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi is preparing to make a move across West London to Fulham, with a deal in the region of £5 million expected. The 20-year-old winger is set for a fresh start at Craven Cottage after struggling to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.

Club looking to trim squad

Mauricio Pochettino, the new Chelsea manager, aims to have a squad size of 22 players. With the arrivals of Romeo Lavia and Michael Olis expected in the coming days, the squad would reach 35 players. To achieve the desired size, aside from the nine mentioned players, there may be loan moves for Eddie Beach, Andrey Santos, and Lesley Ugochukwu.

The Blues started their season under Pochettino with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool, and they have an upcoming Premier League clash with West Ham this weekend. Stay tuned as we keep you updated with all the latest transfer news, rumors, and confirmed switches from the world of football.
