Chelsea rivalled by Liverpool and Leicester in Patson Daka transfer chase after scoring for fun for Red Bull Salzburg

CHELSEA have been joined by Liverpool and Leicester in the race for Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.

The 22-year-old scored a sensational 34 goals in 42 games for the Austrian champions last season.

Daka has been sensational since arriving at SalzburgHe is now set to make a move to one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs

And he also provided 12 assists for Salzburg, making him a highly sought-after attacker across Europe.

Chelsea have been long-time admirers of the Zambian international, who has also netted seven times in 22 appearances for his country.

And Liverpool recently joined them in their pursuit of Daka, who could be available for the bargain price of £17million.

Back in March it was also reported that Manchester United and Arsenal were looking to battle it out for his services.

But according to The Mirror, FA Cup winners Leicester are now also interested in acquiring the rising star.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is looking for a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy.

Vardy, 34, is a club legend at the King Power Stadium having scored 147 goals in 352 games across nine seasons.

But as he reaches the twilight of his career, Rodgers is forced to plan for the future.

And he will be looking to find a new partner for Kelechi Iheanacho to play alongside up front.

Daka could be just the man to fill that void as he is linked with a move to England after two stellar seasons on the continent.

Across the past couple of campaigns, Daka has managed a remarkable 61 goals in 87 games, meaning he is in no way a one-season wonder.
