Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has ‘agreed personal terms with Inter Milan’ for free summer transfer

OLIVIER GIROUD has reportedly agreed personal terms with Inter Milan to join on a free transfer from Chelsea.

The 33-year-old has long-been linked with the Serie A side and attempted to push through a move to the San Siro in January.

Lazio then entered the race to land the veteran French international once his contract expires with the Blues at the end of the season.

Chelsea blocked his exit three months ago due to a lack of cover upfront.

And Tammy Abraham’s ankle injury led to Giroud being given an opportunity by Frank Lampard until the coronavirus outbreak suspended the season.

Speculation then mounted that the West London outfit were looking to extend his deal beyond the end of the campaign.

Now Tuttosport claim those attempts were in vain as he has already made up his mind to sign for Inter after agreeing terms.

It states he is due to pen a two-year contract with an option for a third season.

The World Cup winner currently earns £135,00-a-week at Chelsea but he is due to take a pay cut to seal his switch to Antonio Conte’s side.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim Giroud will take a weekly hit of £25k, which would still make him one of Inter’s top earners.

The ex-Arsenal man, who turns 34 in September, has scored just three goals in 13 matches for the Blues this campaign.
