Chelsea willing to SELL N’golo Kante to fund further transfers after sealing £53m Timo Werner deal and Havertz eyed

CHELSEA are willing to sell N’Golo Kante to fund more transfers this summer.

The Blues have already confirmed the £53million signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and are also keen on landing Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea are willing to sell N’Golo Kante in order to fund further transfers this summer

Werner, 24, has 11 goals in 29 international appearances for Germany and has penned a £9million-a-year contract with the West Londoners worth £170,000-a-week.

But Frank Lampard does not want to stop there and the club will continue to pursue Bayer Leverkusen’s Havertz and Chilwell from Leicester.

However, the pair will not come cheap and the Blues will consider letting French star Kante, 29, leave in order to fund other moves, according to the Times.

The club are understood to be enforcing a new ‘one-in, one-out’ transfer policy with Ajax star Hakim Ziyech also arriving this summer in a £37million move.

And Kante – who has been courted by Real Madrid and French champions Paris Saint-Germain – could be the next out the door.

Lampard is also desperate to add a left-back to his squad as he looks to replace Emerson who has been disappointing this season.

But it emerged yesterday the Foxes will reject £50m bids for the England ace in a blow to Chelsea.

Elsewhere, Havertz, 21, fuelled speculation linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge by liking a tweet demanding Chelsea sign him.

Leverkusen have priced Havertz at more than £89.5m – but will not block his move if their valuation is met.

The Germany international has chipped in with 16 goals and nine assists during the 2019/20 campaign.

But the Blues face competition from Real Madrid as Marca recently claimed he is prepared to spend another year with Leverkusen to secure his dream move to Madrid.

After signing for Chelsea, Werner said: “I am delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club.

“I of course want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans, for four fantastic years. You will forever be in my heart.

“I look forward to next season with my new team-mates, my new manager and of course the Chelsea fans.

“Together we have a very successful future ahead of us.”
