CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN trained with Ajax reserves as the cardiac arrest victim chases a Premier League return.

Brentford and Leicester have been linked with the ex-Tottenham midfielder, who was released by Inter Milan in October because Serie A bans players with pacemakers.

Ex-Spurs midfielder Christian Erikssen trained with Swiss side FC Chiasso last month and is now showing Ajax reserves a thing or two
Ex-Denmark superstar Christian Eriksen has been without a club since October, after a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 ended his Serie A career

The 29-year-old joined training at Swiss side FC Chiasso last month as he closes on a remarkable comeback after he ‘technically died’ following his collapse while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020.

And now, according to De Telegraaf, Ajax’s kids “marvelled” at Eriksen‘s sharpness and skills.

The Dutch newspaper revealed he received treatment at Fysiomed in Amsterdam before asking his old club if he could practice for a day.

Ajax readily agreed and he was put under the wing of reserves boss John Heitinga, the former Everton, Fulham, Ajax and Holland centre-back.

It’s understood Eriksen was in touch with Ajax superstars Daley Blind, Davy Klaassen and Dusan Tadic.

And his ex-Denmark team-mate, Lasse Schone, travelled from his current Dutch club, NEC, to also meet up.

Eriksen‘s agent Martin Schoots has confirmed the 109-cap playmaker is most likely to head for England – as the best way to boost his dream of playing at the Qatar World Cup in November.

He said: “Christian wants to go to the Premier League and I expect this to happen.

“He wants to go to a club where he can play as much as possible.

“To be able to play at the World Cup, he has to get fit and be active at the highest level.”

Eriksen was fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator following his on-pitch cardiac arrest against Finland on June 12 last year.

But after initially fearing he would need to retire, he is now tipped to play at the top level again.
