YANNICK CARRASCO has revealed that he rejected FOUR Premier League clubs in January’s transfer window to remain at Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old Belgian had a number of clubs chasing him following the five goals and three assists he’s provided for Atletico in La Liga this season.

But the Belgian winger admitted that he wasn’t interested as he’s happy with Atletico
Tottenham and Newcastle were reportedly willing to pay the versatile winger’s £50million release clause before it expired.
Chelsea and Manchester United were also said to be keeping tabs on Carrasco.
But Atletico weren’t willing to negotiate a new fee with the Prem sides.
And now Carrasco’s revealed that he had no intention of leaving Diego Simeone’s team despite the interest from England as he’s happy in Spain.
In an interview with RBTF, Carrasco explained: “These days, I feel very, very good. I’m at home. I’m well integrated. I’m an important player whether it be on the pitch or in the dressing room.
“I’m already at a certain age too, but football, as they say, you never know how to plan or predict the future.
“A few clubs knocked on my door this winter, but I’m good at Atlético, so I wanted to continue my adventure here.”
Tottenham’s rivals Arsenal also showed interest in Carrasco while he was playing in the Chinese Super League for Dalian Yifang in 2019.
However, Atletico beat the Gunners to the punch and re-signed the attacker in 2020 after they initially sold him to the Chinese side.
But if Carrasco’s previous comments are anything to go by, one of the aforementioned English sides may be able to lure him to the Prem at some point in the future.
In a prior interview, Carrasco admitted the Prem was an attractive option.
He said, reported by the Express: “The players who play in the Premier League tell me it is a physical league – strong, but you also have a lot of space.
“Sometimes when you play in other countries you do not have a lot of space but in England it is open, the play is up and down the pitch.
“That would suit me. I think I can play in a lot of competitions in the world – I can attack and also I can defend.
“If I have the opportunity to go to England, why not?”
