The 21-year-old Aston Villa loanee came off second best in a brutal clash of heads with Bolton’s Aristote Nsiala.

The two players collided in the 56th minute but incredibly O’Hare was bandaged up by the medical staff and played on for the full 90 minutes.

O’Hare’s manager Mark Robins told Coventry Live: “Hes getting whacked in the same spot but we keep saying to him that youre not a player until you get ten stitches in a face wound.

“The medical staff have been in to make sure he hasnt been concussed and he hasnt. Hes right as rain.”

Max Biamou’s late goal extended Coventry’s unbeaten run in League One to eight games.

Amadou Bakayoko had previously given the home side the lead at St Andrew’s before Dennis Politic equalised for Bolton in the second half.

The Sky Blues are well placed to go up as they sit fourth in the table, just five points behind leaders Rotherham United but with two games in hand.

The courage showed by O’Hare may help convince parent club Villa he has the potential to slot in to their midfield.

Dean Smith’s men are flirting with the relegation zone in the Premier League and if they drop into the Championship next season it is likely a number of star players will leave.

Talisman Jack Grealish has expressed a desire to join Manchester United if he is to leave Villa Park and his departure could open up a spot for O’Hare.

The former England Under-20 international came through the academy at Villa and made his first team debut back in 2017 and will hope to force his way back into the side.
