Cristiano Ronaldo breaks silence on transfer future after Man Utd icon’s car ‘spotted in Sporting Lisbon car park’

Sensational reports from Portugal suggested the Real Madrid legend’s vehicle was outside Sporting’s Jose Alvalade Stadium amid claims he will rejoin his old club on loan for the coming season.

Sport TV Portugal issued a photo of the car with the following statement on Instagram: “A photo circulates on social media that they say is of the Portuguese’s car in the garage of Jose Alvalade.”

However, Ronaldo was quick to slam those rumours insisting they are false.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner commented underneath that photo with a brief statement, which read: “Fake.”

Ronaldo has informed United chiefs of his desire to leave Old Trafford as he wishes to play in the Champions League next season.

The 37-year-old didn’t join the Red Devils in pre-season due to “family reasons”.

The star forward, though, hasn’t found a lot of suitors interested in snatching him away from Manchester.

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign him when he was offered by his agent Jorge Mendes.

Bayern Munich also insist they have no interest in buying the star forward despite Robert Lewandowski’s imminent departure.

Chelsea also seem to have ended their interest after a discussion between new owner Todd Boehly and manager Thomas Tuchel.

Reports have suggested that Sporting would look to bring him back to Lisbon.

Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro is a fan and vowed to speak to her son about a potential move back to his childhood club a year ago.

However, Sporting director Hugo Viana poured cold water on the speculation recently suggesting that a move is unlikely to happen.

Viana said: “I think not now – I don’t think it is possible, but you never know.

“He can decide where he goes, but you never know the future. I don’t want to talk about that, but he has another year on his contract so whatever he decides, let’s see.”
