Cristiano Ronaldo faces more rejection as Bayern Munich confirm they have NO transfer interest in wantaway Man Utd star

BAYERN MUNICH have NO interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer despite Robert Lewandowski’s departure.

Boss Julian Nagelsmann had rejected reports of interest in the wantaway Manchester United superstar in a chat with German football expert Christian Falk.

Bayern Munich have denied having an interest in Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Asked about a pursuit of Ronaldo, Nagelsmann reportedly said: “I read that too, but that’s NOT TRUE.”

Nagelsmann is now the third member of staff at the club to deny the rumours, following CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Rumours had been circling of the German champions’ interest in the Portuguese following the forward’s announcement that he wants to leave Old Trafford.

Bayern are the verge of losing star striker Lewandowski after a goal-laden eight-year stay with the Bundesliga giants.

The two clubs have agreed a £42.5million fee for Lewandowski, 33, which could rise by a further £5m.

Lewandowski is set to pen a three-year deal before flying out for Barcelona’s pre-season tour of the US.

And the Pole was spotted embracing Nagelsmann and team-mates as he said goodbye on Saturday.

Ronaldo had also been linked with a move to Chelsea, before the London side withdrew their interest.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has a year remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford, and new manager Erik ten Hag has announced that last season’s top scorer at the club is in his plans and is not for sale.

It’s thought that the 37-year-old wishes to play Champions League football this coming season, but United only qualified for the Europa League, a competition Ronaldo hasn’t played in since 2002.

The five-time Champions League winner chose not to attend the Red Devil’s pre-season tour to Vietnam and Australia due to personal reasons.

The Portugal international scored 24 goals in 38 appearances for United last season, rejoining the club in August last year for his second spell with the club, 12 years after his first stint came to an end.
