Emmanuel Petit slams Arsenal transfers and board in scathing attack and would have told stars to ‘shut the f**k up’

EMMANUEL PETIT claimed he would have told the Arsenal stars to “shut the f**k up” after the defeat to Brighton.

The Frenchman, 49, insisted Mikel Arteta’s side lacks “leaders” as he hit out the decline of his former club.

Emmanuel Petit has boldly slated his former club

Petit branded the Gunners a “joke” after it was confirmed that David Luiz had been offered a one-year contract extension.

Since the Premier League has resumed, Arsenal have lost 3-0 to Manchester City and 2-1 to Brighton.

Speaking to PaddyPower, Petit said he would have given the players a serious dressing down after the final whistle.

He said: “Arsenal look like an average team with no spirit, no anger or pride.

“I saw them against Brighton at the end of the game, trying to fight Neal Maupay, but that made me laugh.

“You make me laugh, guys, honestly. Shut the f**k up and do the right thing on the pitch.

“Against Brighton I was so pissed off about the behaviour of the players that I wished I could be in the dressing room to say to someone, ‘Shut the f*** up, who the f**k do you think you are?’

“No-one is doing that in the team. There are no leaders, no characters.”

Petit also questioned whether the club’s board are taking the club in the right direction.

He said: “Does anyone think the Arsenal executives and directors know what they’re doing on the football side of things?

Mikel Arteta’s side are tenth in the Premier League table

“For the last few years they have been splashing out on the transfer market – and have brought in soe decent players – but I don’t know what their target or project for the future is.

“Its far worse now than in the last years under Wenger.

“What is the point of being one of the richest clubs on the planet with no reason or vision behind it?”
