Everton are keeping tabs on Wolves ace Leander Dendoncker in the summer

The Merseysiders need reinforcement in midfield and are expected to “explore” a move for the Belgium international within the next few weeks.

The 27-year-old’s deal with Wolves expires in 2023 but there is an option to extend for a further season.

Romano tweeted: “Everton want to sign an extra quality midfielder.

“Frank Lampard has also Leander Dendoncker in the list, he’s appreciated by board and manager.

“Everton, ready to explore this move in the next weeks.

“Contract with Wolves expires in 2023, with option for further season.”

Dendoncker joined Wolves from Anderlecht on loan in 2018 and signed a permanent deal the following year.

The Belgian has since been playing a key role in midfield under previous manager Nuno Espirito Santo and current boss Bruno Lage.

Dendoncker has 12 goals and four assists from 154 appearances across all competitions throughout his four-year stint at Molineux.

Everton are looking for major reinforcement in the summer after a turbulent campaign that almost saw them getting relegated.
