Ex-Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey ‘weighing up Nice transfer but MLS side Charlotte willing to make him top-paid player’

AARON RAMSEY is reportedly set to decide whether to join Ligue 1 side Nice or MLS outfit Charlotte FC after being released by Juventus.

The 31-year-old had his contract ripped up by the Old Lady earlier in the week following his loan spell at Rangers.

Wales international Aaron Ramsey is a free agent after being released by Juventus

Arsenal icon Ramsey, who won the Scottish Cup at Ibrox last season, has been linked with the likes of Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Fulham.

A move to Turkey has also been mooted, but according to the Daily Mail, he is set to be plying his trade in either France or America.

They state that the Wales international has offers on the table from Nice and Charlotte FC.

Nice have identified the three-time FA Cup winner as a key target where they can offer the player Europa Conference League football.

But Ramsey could be tempted to follow compatriot Gareth Bale across the pond after the ex-Tottenham forward linked up with LAFC.

The Mail have stated that Charlotte are prepared to make Ramsey their highest-paid player.

A two-year deal is on the table for the midfielder.

It has been claimed that the former Cardiff man will make a decision on his future this weekend.

Should Ramsey snub a switch to the States and sign for Nice instead, he could be joined by Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The Danish shot-stopper is said to have agreed a transfer to Lucien Favre’s side.

But his move is dependent on Leicester finding a replacement, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.

Benfica ace Odysseas Vlachodimos has been lined up as a possible option.

And Arsenal’s Bernd Leno has also emerged as a target, despite reports that he is on the verge of joining Fulham.
