FORMER Manchester City defender Danilo has revealed it is ‘not easy to have a good relationship with Pep Guardiola’.
The 30-year-old Brazilian made 23 Premier League appearances during Man City‘s record-breaking 2017-18 season where they won the title and finished on 100 points.
The following campaign the full-back found himself with fewer opportunities to play and eventually departed for Juventus in the summer of 2019.
He left on a part-exchange deal for Joao Cancelo, who has gone on to excel at the Etihad.
Meanwhile, Danilo has now decided to open up about his opinion of Guardiola, using a strange analogy about the Spaniard’s wife to do so.
Speaking to Repubblica, he said: “It’s true it’s not easy to have a good relationship with him (Guardiola).
“He is never relaxed, he thinks about football all the time.
“I think at home, in the evening, he puts his wife on the couch as if she were a player on the pitch.”
The 50-year-old coach met his wife Cristina Serra when he was just 18 years old.
The pair, who got married in 2014, have three children named Maria, Màrius and Valentina.
Guardiola has been living in England since he joined Manchester City in 2016.
He previously enjoyed supremely successful spells at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and is widely regarded as one of the most influential minds of modern football.

Coming into the 2021-22 campaign, Guardiola has won nine league titles in 12 seasons as a head coach.
And his defending champions produced a statement performance last weekend with a commanding 1-0 win over Chelsea.
They face another stern test on Sunday when they come up against Liverpool as Guardiola does battle with Jurgen Klopp once more.
