Fans Mock Nottingham Forest’s New Stadium Sign as “Sickening”

Nottingham Forest fans express disappointment over new sign at the City Ground

Football fans are not impressed with Nottingham Forest's new sign at the Trent End of the City Ground. The club recently took down the original crest and replaced it with a smaller version, leaving behind visible brackets from the old sign. Supporters took to social media to express their disappointment, with one fan jokingly saying, "It'll look nice when it's finished."

Supporters criticize the sign's unfinished appearance

Fans were quick to point out the flaws of the new sign, highlighting how the previous brackets still remain visible. Some supporters called for the stand's cleaning/refinishing, stating that it would enhance the impact of the new crest. Others deemed the sign fitting as "poor" and expressed their frustration with the overall appearance of the stadium. Comments like "Just shows how run down the ground is" and "Need to clean marks of the old sign. Will look right botch job if they don't" flooded social media.

Nottingham Forest's rich history and recent successes

Nottingham Forest has a long-standing history at the City Ground, having played there since its opening in 1898. In recent years, the club's fortunes have improved under the management of Steve Cooper. In 2022, Cooper led the team back to the Premier League after a 23-year absence. Last season, Forest avoided relegation and secured a 16th place finish in the 2022/23 campaign. The club currently sits with two wins and two defeats from their first four games of the new season.

Forest will host newly-promoted Burnley at the City Ground on Monday evening.
